
UK accused of being too slow to regulate cloud services providers

The UK government said major cloud and AI service providers will be formally designated as “critical third parties” by next year, enabling direct supervision by the Bank of England and the FCA. MPs expressed frustration that firms like Amazon and Google have not yet been placed under the new regime despite recent outages that disrupted banks and financial-market services.
