The universe of supervisory mandates - total eclipse of the core?

Surveying 27 jurisdictions, the paper finds that supervisory authorities now operate under a growing list of objectives (consumer protection, competition, innovation, climate, AML/CFT, resolution, etc.), many of which can conflict with or dilute focus from their primary safety-and-soundness (S&S) mission.
