Dutch Abstract: Op 1 januari 2011 is in de Europese Unie het nieuwe toezichtstelsel voor de financiële sector in werking getreden. Het is een groot bouwwerk geworden met drie sectorale pilaren (EBA, EIOPA en ESMA). De ECB fungeert, in de gedaante van de ESRB, als entablement en de ondergrond wordt gevormd door de toezichthouders in de lidstaten.
