The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority developed a supervisory technology (SupTech) pilot tool in 2023 to collect and analyse PRIIPs Key Information Documents (KIDs). The system uses web-scraping to gather KIDs from insurance undertakings’ websites, applies Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract relevant data, and stores the information in a central database.
