New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (FMA) publishes research on AI use in the financial services sector.

The research surveyed 30 regulated entities, including deposit takers, insurers, asset managers, and financial advice providers, to generate insights, and the response rate was 40% (13 entities). The FMA was primarily interested in the uses of AI, including GenAI, machine learning, AI decision-making tools, and chatbots.
