At the launch of the Banking Industry Guidelines for Mitigation of Fraud and the Revised Code of Conduct in Kampala on 19 February 2024, Michael Atingi-Ego, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda, warned that rising cybercrime and sophisticated internal fraud threaten public trust in Uganda’s financial system.
